This has to do with structured water. Since the needle is made of stainless steel, it is hydrophilic. Because of that, structured water will naturally form on the needle when it comes in contact with extracellular fluid.This then puts a negative charge around the needle shaft. Thus drawing even more water to the needle through electro-osmosis. And attracting even stronger elements of the immune system that have a positive charge. If the muscles in the area are tight or spasmy, the negative charge will encourage structured water formation an thus relax the muscles as explained elsewhere.
