How a needle can treat inflammation and influence the circulation of extra-cellular fluid.

There is a phenomenon called electro-osmosis discovered by Dr. Bjorn Nordenstrom that shows that in a tissue matrix (not in a bucket of water) in the presence of an electric field, water will migrate to the negative pole. It so happens that inflammation is also associated with an accumulation of negative charge. That knowledge along with my electrical engineering background, allowed me to devise a form of electro-acupuncture that works as well or better than cortisone in getting rid of inflammation. I have improved and perfected that technique over the past 30 years or so. I now know that electroosmosis is due to the action of structured water which explains the need for the extracellular matrix.

Sticking a needle anywhere will cause the electrons (which are negatively charged) on the surface of the skin to go through the needle (and even through the hole when the needle is removed) to collect under the skin. That negative charge then draws fluid towards the needle and hole. So depending on where you put it a needle can influence the flow in the meridian. If done right it can also cause an anti-inflammation effect also. this effect does not require Qi since it is not working through the nervous system. And the farther down the arm or leg you go, the stronger the effect, because of the distribution of charge on the skin. But distance from the problem area matters more (see Coulombs law).

Using an Ion Pumping Chord hooked up correctly can cause an even stronger effect. Doing it with an electro-acupuncture machine has the strongest effect. And the effect is somewhat cumulative so putting two needled in the channel will work better than one (put them 1-1 1/2 inches apart and about 1/2 inch deep. You don’t have to needle an acupuncture point. any point along a channel will do. I have done it on several patients and it worked great. Sometimes spectacularly so. I was able to treat problems neither doctors nor other acupuncturists could do anything for. And in the first treatment. Sometimes that included knowing there are more channels than are talked about in TCM. The Germans even have names for them. These channels are typically between TCM channels. And where there is a wide gap between the traditional channels it makes sense since all the tissues need nutrition and get rid of the wastes of metabolism. And knowing this fact has allowed me to successfully treat my patients. So, when you are stimulating extracellular fluid circulation, needle ALL the channels that go through the problem area.

You can use just needles to speed healing by increasing to flow to improve nutrition to the cells and help remove toxins from the tissues, whether it be due to normal metabolism or from other causes. I have used this technique to treat pain in the legs from a bad reaction to drugs, gout, diabetic neuropathy, and lymph edema. To treat inflammation you just needle more shallowly than normal. You are trying to draw the fluids away from the site of inflammation so you don’t want to needle too deeply or you could make things worse, not better. To make it work even better, you could needle more proximally on the channels that pass through the area to help draw the fluid be drawn away from the area entirely. Simple, right? Only if you know how things work. This is scientific acupuncture. Know how things work so you can take advantage of that knowledge so you can do things you otherwise wouldn’t know how to do.

In addition to the negative charge on the surface of the skin, an acupuncture needle is made of stainless steel. That means it is also a hydrophilic surface (water loving). |Hydrophilic surfaces will automatically grow structured water on them when exposed to extracellular fluid in the body. Because of the separation of charge that occurs with making structured water, negative charge will form on the needle (actually on the structured water). That will add to the negative charge from the surface of the skin.
