My Story

My book and this website would not have come to be if I had not had a stroke in 2015. That gave me the time and motivation to write. My brother actually put the thought of writing in my head. At first I thought of writing about my experience treating myself with scalp acupuncture. But putting my understanding of how acupuncture works did not seem to fit. So I started writing another book which turned to to be the book I finally got published. The doctor in my first rehab center would not let me treat my self. So I lost 6 weeks of therapy when it would have done the most good. Even then when I went to the second rehab facility, I started treating myself and was waking up a muscle every 2 or 3 treatments. But that did not help as much as the 6 weeks would have. As a result, I am left with little use of my left arm and can hardly walk well. So even though I can’t do my handyman job any more (yes, I was a handyman too, I could build or fix just about anything). And knowing how things work made me a very good handyman. But fortunately I can do acupuncture with one hand. And I can write. And knowing how acupuncture works has made me a very good acupuncturist, giving me more treatments to use and more ways to treat more things. than you ever could. I couldn’t work at all for two years as I learned to walk again. So I stayed productive by writing. So eventually, I had to start all over once I was well enough to give treatments. And I am still good at it. I always was. And then the Pandemic hit. So I continued to work on my book and try to get it published while I tried to get my clinic up and running again. All while trying to take care of my house and deal with my renters. And dealing with my disability. But it felt good to feel useful. And writing I could share my knowledge from being in practice since 1990. Now my practice is starting to pick up. And I have plenty of projects to keep me busy. I am trying to write my first research proposal. And I am looking at the resistance between acupuncture points. And then there are the acupuncture machines I am designing and trying to build. And have you tried to solder with one hand? It is not easy and is slowing me down compared to what I used to be able to do. And then there are the new treatments I am trying to develop. So you see, I am not letting my disability to slow me down much. But it is still very frustrating. Especially knowing I could have fixed myself if they let me. So you can thank a stroke for this website and my book. When doing research for my first book, I learn about Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM) and have since incorporated it into my practice. And I have gotten my second book “Scientific Acupuncture” published. It describes all the types of treatments I use in my clinic, how to do them correctly and how they work. And I believe I am the first to wright about the role of structured water in the functioning of acupuncture. Even it’s role in the possible formation of the meridians (and even the lymphatic vessels for that matter). And I’m still coming up with new treatments. My most recent ones are a treatment for degenerative eye diseases. Did you know that cataracts are a degenerative condition? I didn’t until I had a reason to study it. I then I realized that it should be easy to slow or stop it’s progression. Macular Degeneration is a little more complicated due the two types ((wet and dry) But I even have a possible easy explanation of that. And now I have come up with a way to treat skin infections to prevent them from spreading. Any infection, even antibiotic resistant ones. Life can be interesting, don’t you think?
