How you were taught to needle points in school was not scientific! You still do not really know what you are doing! you may be getting OK results but do you understand Why? Do you know anything about the bio-electric effects? And if you do, do you know how to use them? I seriously doubt it since it is not a part of TCM. You need to read the page “Point Needling Techniques” and educate yourself. After 30 years in practice, I am acutely aware of the shortcomings in our schools curriculum. Just like you, they think teaching TCM is enough. It is only a firm foundation for the rest of your training. It is necessary but not really enough. Because you still have not been taught the science of how it works. Only then can you really know what you are doing. Or how to do it safely and effectively.
