A bit about myself and how I came to these views

I studied Electrical Engineering at Georgia Tech. While there I came across two books on Kirlian Photography. One of them talked about acupuncture points unusual electrical properties. It mentioned a Rumanian doctor who made a table to take a Kirlian photograph of the whole back which he could diagnose organ problems by the associated acupuncture points would “light up”. I have since found I an do the same thing with a point dector and a roller electrode. It seems to find functional disturbances before there is any pathology.

Anyway, that got me interested in bio-engineering but Georgia Tech did not have a good program in that so I minored in Fiber Optics instead. I did after coming to Seattle to work for Boeing, build my own Kirlian photography equipment to do my own research. Too many variables to control to be that useful. Mainly showed the resistive properties of the object photographed. Mainly by a high voltage corona discharge phenomena. Around that time I also learned /therapeutic Touch and learned about German Electro-diagnostic techniques. they were measuring the electrical activity at the well points. Eventually, I decided to go to acupuncture school and turn my hobby into a career. When I was in my first year, I attended a conference in LA where I heard Dr. Bernard Nordenstrom talk about his research, and the French researchers Dr. Devernaajoul and Dr. Darras talked about their research injecting Technicium99 into acupuncture points. As far as I know, no one has duplicated any of the research. It took me a few years to put it all together. And with Dr. Becker’s work, I know electricity played a role. So my conclusions are not from my own research, but putting together pieces from other’s work. And then trying new techniques I developed from this knowledge on my patients (with their informed consent, of course). And, lo and behold, they worked! My Anti-Inflammation Electro-Acupuncture (AIEAC) technique I have been using for over 10 years now and it works almost every time if done right. And if it doesn’t work, I know either I needled too deeply or it wasn’t inflamed but torn or broken or degenerating. And the meridians must be connected with the flow of extra-cellular fluid because when I needle the channels to influence that flow with electro-osmosis, it did help like I thought it would. In fact it worked better than I thought it would. My AIEAC also works via electro-osmosis. If you want to know more about it, read his book.

When it comes to electro-acupuncture and the effects of different frequencies, Dr. Han’s work covers it pretty well, although I have found some things they don’t cover, like the effect of various frequencies on muscle tone, and the problem using 2/100 Hz in Dense-Disperse mode. Those I discovered by doing treatments. I use 15 and 100 Hz most, especially for pain. I discovered 15 Hz when I learned that is the frequency used in machines used to heal non-union fractures.

No matter what you think of my book, There are some things you must accept. The meridians are involved with the circulation of extracellular fluid, helping the lymphatics when we are inactive or sleeping. Electro-osmosis is a major bio-electric phenomena at work in acupuncture and causing some of the healing effects of acupuncture when needled appropriately for the problem. Also, needling moves electrons on the surface of the skin and moving that charge can help treat both inflammation and degeneration when done properly. My book tells you how to do it and why it works. Learn how to do them. See they really work. Then maybe you will accept that I must know what I am talking about. I was just fortunate enough to have the background and interests to get the right knowledge and be able to put it all together into a sensible whole.

This is my first book, I tried to organize it as best as I could, but it is not perfect. If you have suggestions, I’d like to hear them. I’m not perfect but I am a pretty good acupuncturist. Like my homepage says “”Making Acupuncture a true science and bringing it into the 21st century”. That is my goal. That is my contribution.

I aman Acupuncturist with over 32 years experience. I am also an electrical engineer (graduated from Georgia Tech in 1981) and also an author ("Electro-Acupuncture for Practitioners" available on Amazon in book and e-book formats). My goal is to take the mysteryout of acupuncture and to bring it into the 21st century.
