Our way of feeling the pulses is different than the way it is done in the West. And in some ways is more sophisticated. But why does it work? I have been feeling pulses for more than 30 years and can say it does work pretty much as described. But why? For me, I can understand how stress can affect the pulses in various ways. But why do the organs express themselves the way they do? I can only guess it is just another microsystem. And I have noticed that the Kidneys and Bladder mostly show on the 3rd position on the left while the Pericardium and Triple Warmer usually show on the 3rd position on the right. This seems to me to be the more accurate way to see the third position on both sides. Has anyone else noticed this?
Now this is how I see stress showing up in the pulses. First stress constricts the peripheral circulation. That will cause the vessel wall to get “taught” or “Tight” or “firm”. It might also be responsible for making it feel “wiry”. Since stress also can increase blood pressure, it may also make it feel more “full”. The increased tightness of the smooth muscles that control the size of the vessels will contribute to all of this. But I would think that these effects would affect all the positions, not just one. So if most or all of the pulse positions are showing these types of feelings, there is definitely over activity of the sympathetic nervous system. I can only think that somehow the nervous system controls these effects at each pulse position to display each organ. But what about “slippery”? I have no ideas about that one. Do you?
As I think about it there are a few other things I can say. for example”thin”, “empty” or “full” pulses can represent the amount of blood in circulation. That can be thought of as one kind of blood deficiency. the amount of blood in circulation is controlled by the liver. Which is one way the liver can affect blood pressure.
