Electro-Acupuncture

There are many kinds of electro-acupuncture. There is what I call “Classical Electro-Acupuncture” which you were probably taught in school. Within this category are all non-polarized forms of electro-acupuncture. So there are no chemical reactions at either pole. Among the classical styles are:

Continuous where a single repetition rate (often called the frequency, (But that is not technically correct. Frequency strictly refers to the pulse repetition rate of a sinusoidal signal. Electro-acupuncture machines typically use square waves.) The waveform is run continuously.

Intermittent where a single pulse repetition rate is run for a few seconds (usually 3) an then is off for the same length of time. The time interval chosen probably comes from the research of Dr. Han.

Dense-Disperse is where two frequencies alternate (usually at a three second interval.

Preferential is where two channels are set at two different repetition rates and the electrodes or needles are typically placed in a “X” pattern.

You have probably heard of TENS (Trans cutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation).

Similar to TENS is CES OR Cranial Electrical Stimulation.

Then there are various forms of Polarized electrical stimulation.

then you have probably also heard of Microcurrent stimulation.

Then there are stimulation techniques to exercise muscles.

Then there is FSM (Frequency Specific Microcurrent).

Treating with Direct Current (D.C.) is like stimulating with a particular constant voltage.

Each has uses and drawbacks. You can think of each as using specific waveforms and pulse repetition rates and intensity to do a specific thing. The effects are generally due to the waveform, pulse repetition rate and intensity. Generally speaking the effects are due to stimulation of the nervous system, but some use bio-electric effects.

And to confuse you even more there are Ion Pumping Chords and Earthing.

There are many machines from many companies but no one machine is designed to do it all. Even among electro-acupuncture machines, ones designed to do dense-Disperse don’t do Interferential and vice versa. TENS, CES and muscle exercise machines use too high a voltage too be used with needles and most electroacupuncture machines are too weak to do TENS, CES, or exercise muscles. So what is an acupuncturist to do? I am here to help. Much of the useful information can be found in my book. But even then, I have learned even more since it’s publication. I will not tell you how to do the various treatments, that is in the book. But here I will describe each and what it is good for. That is a lot of information and it will take me time to post all the pages. Some of the techniques there is no machine to buy yet. But I plan to fix that. But that will take some time. Especially seeing I am working with one hand (a stroke in 2015. If the doctor would have let me do scalp acupuncture on myself, I’d be fine, but no. So much for Western Medicine. But it did give me time to write and I did learn a]bout FSM in the process which allows me to do so much more. And I have made up new treatments that seem to be working as well. So I guess that’s life. And I have found a new purpose in my life, To make acupuncture a true science in people’s eyes and to bring it into the 21st century. Thus this website. Along the way I hope to bring to some new treatments to the equation that will help people. Even if I quit now my AIEAC treatment will help many people as more acupuncturists learn about it and use it.
