Mark Reinhard, B.E.E., L.Ac./E.A.M.P.

I graduated from Georgia Tech in 1981 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, specializing in Fiber Optics and Integrated Optics. I then moved to Seattle to work for Boeing. In 1983 I learned Therapeutic Touch and discovered my true calling in Alternative Medicine and realized how much more rewarding it was to help people feel better than it was working on planes or missiles. I received my training as an Acupressure Therapist from the Northwest Institute of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NIAOM) and was licensed as a Massage Therapist in 1987. In 1990 I graduated from NIAOM as an Acupuncture Therapist and received my State License (L.Ac., Washington) and National Board (DipI. Ac. (NCCAOM)) Certification in Acupuncture. After working part-time with an MD and a Naturopath/Acupuncturist, I founded Valley Acupuncture Center in 1991. In 1992, I was certified as a detox Acupuncturist by the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA) and then worked part-time at a detox clinic in Tacoma, WA for about a year. I have been a frequent guest on the cable health show “The Healers” and was former Membership Director and Treasurer for the Acupuncture Association of Washington. I have taught Electro-Acupuncture at NIAOM, SIOM and Bastyr University. I had a stroke in December 2015. During my convalescence, I decided to use the time to write about my convalescence and treating myself with scalp acupuncture (“Acupuncture and Stroke, a personal experience” (not yet released)). In it I describe my experience using scalp acupuncture to treat myself. I then decided to write my first book to be published as well to share the knowledge I have gained over my over 30 years of practice “Electro-Acupuncture for Practitioners” which is available on Amazon. My specialties are Electro-Acupuncture, Frequency Specific Microcurrent, and Scalp Acupuncture. Over 80% of the patients I treat find at least some relief. I am also currently designing and tried building several electro-acupuncture machines as well that can do all the things described in my book since there is no such devices on the market. I am also designing and building a machine to do the Chinese technique to treat cancer as well as other d.c. treatments and one to treat bone-on-bone joints such as knees among others. But my disability has made that very frustrating. On top of that, I keep coming up with new treatments to try. So I have plenty to keep me busy.

I became an engineer to learn how things work. I brought my natural curiosity to my new profession. After 26 years I finally figured out how acupuncture works. It then took me 4 years to put that knowledge into book form. Acupuncture is way more than just endorphins. If you don’t believe me read these pages. Then if you have arguments with anything, tell me what they are. So far I have heard no arguments with anything. None. I have learned what I have learned by asking questions and thinking of things I can do with what I do have to answer those questions. And I continue to do so. I am not done yet.
